Dear Friends in Christ,

 

You are cordially invited to join us for our annual Homecoming Service on Sunday August 2, 2026, at 11:00 am.  Holy Communion will be celebrated, and we will offer to God our Thanksgiving for the numerous blessing which have been bestowed upon us during the past year.  Come join and fellowship with us after the service at a repast prepared by members of the church.

Our guest speaker will be Bishop Ronald Paige, who grew up in Jefferson County, was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church while growing up in Jefferson County, and is a graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 1974.

​

Following his graduation, Bishop Paige moved from Charles Town to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, in 1975 and was later called into ministry.  He trained at Sixth Street Baptist Church in New Bedford, Massachusetts; earned a master’s degree in religious education from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; and completed additional biblical studies at Faith Christian Center in Seekonk, Massachusetts. 

 

Ordained through the New England Council of Churches on October 27, 1991, he has served in several ministry roles, including Associate Minister at Saint Luke Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia; Pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church in White Post, Virginia; and Executive Pastor of Destiny Baptist Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia.  He now serves as founder and CEO of Spirit of Praise Family Life Christian Cathedral Community Development Corporation and as Bishop of Economic Development for Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International.

 

The Lord has provided many opportunities for the family of Saint Philip’s to carry out our mission.  We continue to be beacons for our community.  We feed the hungry every fifth Saturday.  Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) continues to meet twice weekly in the Parish Hall. The Jefferson County Branch of the NAACP is provided meeting space every second Tuesday of the month.  St. Philip’s not only makes contributions to the Jefferson County Community Ministries who supports the homeless and the needy with food, clothing, medicine, etc. but also has a representative on the board to further our footprint in the community.

We continue to depend on the supporting prayers, presence and contributions of all our members and friends to continue our calling in the community and the Diocese.  We are asking each of our members to give at least $150.00 and friends of St. Philip’s to be as generous as possible.

​
